Son of Harmonium Maestro Pandit Jyoti Goho, Sourabh started learning under the Tabla Legend Late Pandit Shankar Ghosh from the age of seven and also took talim from Maestro Bickram Ghosh.
He has received guidance from both these great maestros for two decades (20 years). Currently, he also receives Tabla Accompaniment guidance from two eminent Legends, Pandit Shyamal Chattopadhyay (eldest disciple of Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar) and Ustad Aashish Khan ( Sarod legend and the Khalifa of the prestigious Maihar Gharana).
He has received the golden opportunity to become a Gandabandh- Shishya of his Guru Late Pandit Shankar Ghosh, on 10th September 2007.
In the year 2010, Sourabh received “National Scholarship Award” from The Ministry of Culture, Goverment of India & performed a memorable tabla solo at the prestigious ITC Sangeet Research Academy, infront of top legends and gurus of the academy.
In June 2013, he made his International Debut at Shanghai, China along with his father Maestro Jyoti Goho and in August 2013 he performed a tabla solo at the prestigious Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark, Kolkata.
Recently he has performed in various reputed venues & festivals like: HCL Concerts (Gurgaon & New Delhi), Royal Opera House (Mumbai), All India Keyboard Instruments Festival with Pandit Jyoti Goho (Mumbai), six times at India Habitat Centre (Delhi), Sangeet Natak Academi (New Delhi) for Legends of India, thrice in Epicentre (Gurgaon), The Oberoi (Delhi), All India Tabla Conference (Secunderabad), Phoenix Market City (Bangalore), Ramakrishna Mission (Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata), Pracheen Kala Kendra (Chandigarh), Maihar Palace (Madhya Pradesh), Baba Allauddin Khan Sangeet Samaraho (Kolkata & Maihar), 100 years of Maihar Band Sangeet Samaraho (Maihar, Madhya Pradesh) organised by Sangeet Natak Academi, Hampi Festival 2017 (Karnataka) organised by Karnataka Government, Delhi International Arts Festival 2017 among many others.
He has performed with Legendary Sarode Maestro Ustad Aashish Khan at Dhaka, Bangladesh at a classical concert at the french organisation Alliance Francaise de Dhaka and with his father, Harmonium Maestro Pandit Jyoti Goho at Kolkata, Indore, Mumbai among other prominent performances with legendary figures and gen-next young maestros of this generation.
Besides music, he has completed graduation in BCOM, Accountancy Honours from the University of Calcutta. Thereafter, he pursued Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from Heritage Business School, Kolkata.
Besides being a performer, he also teaches tabla regularly at his father Pandit Jyoti Goho's institute INDRADHANU in Kolkata. Sourabh also offers private Online Virtual Classes to numerous students from six continents across the globe - North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia. He has online students from six major states in India: Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and West Bengal.
Apart from teaching privately he has joined hands with Ipassio - a hobby learning platform which operates from Bangalore, South India. In 2018, he conducted four days of Tabla Workshop and performed a Tabla Solo at the prestigious Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
In 2018, Sourabh has got the opportunity to play for a famous band "Alfareros" in their album 70 Veces 7 which has won the coveted LATIN GRAMMY award for best album in Latin Music. He is the only guest artist from India featured in the album. He also plays regularly in various recordings and several International Collaborations from the USA, UK and Malaysia.
In 2019, he has conducted Tabla Workshops in West Bengal in 3 cities / towns namely: Kolkata, Bhadreswar (Hoogly district) and Kalyani (Nadia district) which attracted several young and old aged students from the age group of 5+ till 70.
